After a week of wind that inconveniently dies at 6pm (approximately the time I get to the beach after work) it was nice to see some wind forecast for a Saturday. Headed down to Bigbury at 9.30 to beat the bucket and spade brigade and was greeted with force 4-5 Easterly winds at low tide with a bit of swell. Opted for the Freestyle board and a 5.4 hoping to get a decent go at some freestyle stuff. Played about with some heli-tacks, push tacks and managed my first upwind 360's.

After a short break I headed back out upwind to the River mouth where the swell was generating some decent waves. Unfortunately the wind had dropped so it was mainly off the plane slogging upwind to line up for the waves. With the wind cross off and the sets coming in at 3-4 foot it was down the line heaven with only 6 people out!! Regularly getting 4 bottom turns off a wave on the Freestyle board. Would have changed to a wave board but it was a long slog back in fickle winds and the Tabou was turning quite nicely.

It doesn't get much better than this in the UK. Sun, cross off wind and waves. Sailed until my arms gave out and I was struggling to waterstart in the light winds then headed back down wind to find space amongst the sand castles to de-rig.
